What fire precautions should I take?

As your property managers it is of paramount importance to us to make sure all of our houses are kept to stringent fire safety regulations. We also want to make sure all our tenants are properly instructed in the precautions they should take to avoid damages or casualties caused by fire.

You will be fully instructed on check in as to what fire precautions should be taken. As a tenant you should:

  • Test the smoke alarms at least once a month. Hold the test button on one and make sure all of them sound around the house.
  • Keep clutter to a minimum. Make sure there are no large collections of cardboard or flammable materials.
  • Make sure all escape routes out of the house are kept clear at all times. Bikes or boxes should be stored out of the way in suitable places.
  • Familiarise yourself with the fire safety equipment in the house. All our student house come with a fire extinguisher and blanket in the kitchen.
  • Make sure any fire doors are left closed, not propped open with door stops.
  • Do not anyone to smoke in the house and keep any naked flames to a minimum.
